I want to get one for my little brother for Christmas. I have one and love it. Went to sport optics and they are out. Can anyone direct me to someone who has one in stock by chance. Prefer a hide vendor if possible. thanks

Hmmm, tough one. The above posts are probably your best bet. Second hand or demo may be the way to go, as the last time I talked to Tom at Vortex he said the Vipers (MRAD especially) are around a three month wait to fill special orders, let alone in store stocks.

I believe Hyatt's Coin and Guns in Charlotte has them in stock. They are not a hide vendor and prices are negotiable. Call (704) 394-0387 and ask for Roger or Larry Long.

Hey, wait - you now know what you're getting for Christmas, AND you're getting it already?? Awww, Man! What luck (not to mention a cool brother)!

I put one on backorder with Sport Optics last spring. I got it about 3 weeks later.

i was quoted this price from a vendor for a NEW optic. not a demo. fyi. call around.

Uh huh.

CameraLand NY ships for free, and in my experience, their "demos" are LNIB.

The Steiner 5-25x56 Military I bought from them for $2500 (list $3200 or so) was as new; the only way I could tell it wasn't new was the seal on the package was broken.

I'd buy a demo from Doug any day of the week.

yeah. uh huh. and that was $799 SHIPPED from a very popular snipershide vendor for a NEW 4-16x50 ffp mrad pst. i am not going to give the vendors name as this was contact through messaging, and i do not mean to quote prices for someone when it is not my business. all i am saying is call around. you dont have to pay retail. regardless of how "new" the demo may be, why not get one that is truly new for the same price? i would take option B any day of the week.

I see no difference between a brand new one and what CameraLand calls a demo, and I didn't have to spend even 10 seconds on the phone to get that price.
You're not finding new Steiner 5-25s at the price I got it for, in fact, I see used units on the block for more than I paid. I tend to buy from those I've had good experience with in the past.
