New Rem 700 SPS Tactical

Just picked up this Rem 700 in 223. Bone stock for now and all scope. Haha

This is my first Remington as I am a Savage fan. Looking forward to what will come as far as upgrades in the near future. Looking forward to some load development to see what she likes.

I have a question regarding the scope setup. I have a Savage in 308 that I use for F T/R up to 1000 yds. This scope is from it. Do you guys think it would be fine to swap the scope between the two or should I look at different mounts/rings before doing that too much...thoughts?

Damn short barrel. Must be the 16.5" model? That scope combo will work fine until you can find something more to your liking. Take it to the range and shoot it. Vortex PST would be a great choice later on when you're ready to spring for another optic.

Your scope is almost as long as the barrel.........

If you have a good base and rings swapping is fine.
Add in the time and cost of ammo in checking zeros I like a dedicated scope + you have a spare with two scope.
