My barrel is currently threaded 3/4x24. Can a good 'Smith get 5/8x24 over the old threads or will they have to be cut off and redone?

Thread the barrel.this seems the apprpriate place to ask this question. i have recently purchased a TRG 42 .300 WM & have no idea what the threading is? i also wonder, should i buy a thread adapter for my can or have barrel threaded to 5/8" x24 (if that is an option)? let's say time frame is of no consequence. same amount of time to do either?
i'm sorry, i have been on hiatus from hide. but, to answer, ended up with thread adapter. reason: emailed David Whiton of shark & he had my adapter in mail within couple days. i was gonna thread it, but that was too fast. 18 x1m is threading (i have learned).
to clarify he's prob sending you a different end cap for the suppressor since this is one of the great features of the shark cans. give an update when the part arrives if ya can
