I have a Remington sendora 7mm ultra mag that has a stock barrel on it for now that I can not find the land and groves 2.5 " groups at 100 yards only have 140 rounds threw the gun have been told to get a new barrel so I have one on order is this common with factory barrels was told by rem that they oils not do anything about it don't like the fact that you spend 1400 on a gun and it will not shoot a good group at 100 yards should I change the caliber or stay with the ultra mag

Even though 7 RUM is a barrel burner you still should had gotten longer barrel life. The problem might not be the barrel though. Maybe there isn't a good fit between the stock and the action. Maybe the barrel is rubbing against the stock. Maybe a combination of all those. Are you shooting factory ammo?

Check scope mounts, rings, loose reticle/bad scope

Ive bought a few take off sendero barrels & set them back about 1" and rechambered. They shot very well after all the work was done. You can put the old barrel up for sale to recoupe some of your money.

I broke the barrel in with factory ammo and was trying to work up a load with Berger 180 match grades could not get a group went to 180 Sierra match kings and could not get a group using retumbo powder for both the last round I shot blew the primer out of the case having major pressure issues even with light loads the one that blew the primer out was the lightest load it was 83 grains I have not shot it since that talked to some local gunsmiths and they said the barrel was bad because I could not find the lands when trying to load a bullet I took the bergers and just set it in the case by hand I chambered the round and the bullet came out with no scratches on it had it painted black have 3 other friends try to see I thy could find the lands and they could not as well

Would post a pic of the target but I don't know how lol first shot would be ok second would be 1.5"s away third would touch the first fourth would be off next one would touch 1and3 last one would be off totally around a 2.5"group at 100 yards would do the same with all the different powder charges and both types of bullets I'm trying to make this a 1000 plus yard gun but I'm to to the long range stuff so I have no clue what I really need to do to fix the issue I do have a new barrel on order from Mark chenland not sure if I spelt his name right sorry and I'm going to have Jon Beanland chamber the barrel true the action bed it all and put a timed brake on it
