new Remington 5R????

we'll I picked up a Remington 5R today with 24" barrel in 308... just wondering what loads they seem to like???
I may should be in the reloading department...anyway looking for a place to start???

I agree with skeeter. If you are reloading, I would look at load data for 168 and 175. Military shoots M118LR in the M24 SWS and IIRC they are 168's.
 
Ive got the same rifle and it hated the cheapo cbc and magtech stuff. It sprayed it in about 5" groups at 100. FGMM 175s shot right at 1" and my handliads with 44gr of varget under a 178 amax at 2.8" got this

That load is a hair over book max so as usual work the load up in your gun with your components but for me sub 1/2" group out of a bone stock rifle on a bipod and my fist under the grip aint bad. IMO theyre the best bang for the buck rifle out there.
 
I had one that shot any thing with 168s or 175s. It was a great rifle. I did a ladder test at 300 yds and through the range of 3 grains it shot within 2" of each other. Very little variation.
