...In the waiting area of my Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer yesterday, I was personally and cordially invited to closely examine their example of the John Varvatos Edition Chrysler 300.

A stunning example of luxury in the fast lane, it lists for danged near exactly $50K. It is a paramount example of excess. I drool in its presence...; having never before seen, yet imagined, a pearl black paint job in combination with Titanium shaded emblemmage.

Well, maybe I'll get lucky and be Daddy Warbucks in my next incarnation..., but honestly, I can probably wait long enough to snap up a well maintained 'pre-owned' version some years hence.

I could also maybe (but I'm not that particular if I'm gonna get the 'Warbucks treatment'), do with a bit less needcessity to be as close to medical intervention, too, please...?

Re: your PM; I fear you'll be waiting pointlessly for me to bite on the 300, it's way out of my pay grade. But thanks for imagining me owning one anyway.

Greg, I've stopped looking. I'm not Mr. GotRocks either.

I DARED to look at replacing my 1994 Jeep with a 2013/14 Rubicon???
$44,000.00 for a Jeep!!!! I'm sorry but I'm just going to have to retro-fit my old one.
240,000 miles and going. Damn, just damn...

Greg, I've had the good fortune to have owned a host of luxury cars in the past ten years including a BMW 740i, Mercedes E500, VW Phaeton, Porsche Panamera Turbo (and 911 & Boxster, and BMW 750Li and X5, and am here to tell you there's no noticeable difference driving them over any other much less expensive car.

NOW STOP READING RIGHT HERE AND GO ON WITH YOUR DAY

For the rest of you, my first sentence was 100% bullshit when it comes to there being no difference.

Gee, Cart; now yer makin' me feel speshul!

IMHO, any car can be driven at its limits, and these days, my limits have become rather mundane. Nothing I've ever owned has disappointed me, although I may have held onto that 1968 Volvo 142S somewhat overlong (new, then for 14 years).

Yesterday and today, I am benched with some gawdawful respiratory chastisement. Cough, hack, gag, semi-syncope, disoriented, dizzy, funked out. Biding...

Damn, Greg, hope you get that fixed! I'm running out of fellow geezer gun nuts in my area to BS with. Coolest car I ever had was a '57 Ford convertible, red/black, with a white top. Wish I still had it. Dad gave it to me for a wedding present. Holy crap, dad, I should have had this BEFORE I got married! And wifey complained every time I put the top down--yer ruining my hairdo!! Buy more hairspray, and STFU.

Pulled out of the spin OK, feeling better but staying in for a few more days, we are feeling the cold snap that usually precedes opening day of gun/ rifle season. I am not going to jeopardize my Deer season; Celia is already ribbin' me over the new snow camo I bought this tear.

My coolest car was a two year old 1970 Dodge 440 Magnum RT/SE (a fairly rare combination of model/options) Plum Crazy with a white vinyl top and White Bumble Bee stripes. Blew it out one night and chickened out at 140MPH, still had more pedal and another 10MPH to go on the Speedo.
