Looking at buying a HK USP V1 in 40. Guy has one local he is trying to sell with 750 rounds of ammo, two boxes factory rounds and the rest reloads. Asking $800.
and three mags.
Gun looks in good condition from the pictures.

Thanks
Walter

I would be cautious about the reloads. I don't shoot ammo unless it is factory or i loaded it.

Yeah man, I wouldn't take his reloads for any value. I'd give about $500-$550 for the pistol, but I'd keep the reloads out of the deal.

Absolutely, if you were getting 750 rounds of decent factory loaded ammo, I'd say go for it. But with reloads, unless I saw that powder drop myself, then I'd pass.

The market has been flooded lately with .40 handguns. I see a ton of these listed all the time. There is a reason. If your getting a HK do yourself a favor and get it in .45acp.

Depends on who did the reloads, commercial reloaded or his own. If they are commercial then might not be that bad. If he has been reloading for 20 years I probably wouldn't worry too much. You really have to be a screw up to screw up .40 reloads.

If he did reload them, ask him what powder, it it was tightgroup then I'd shit can them.

Depending on the condition a used HK 40 should be in the mid $500 range up to low $600's. I would look around.

If I were in your shoes, go snag a Gen 3 Glock 23. You can shoot all of your 40 loads, and if you pick up a KKM 9mm conversion barrel, you've got a drop in switch-caliber pistol. I love mine so much I even got the Advantage Arms 22LR conversion upper. Very versatile platform if you don't mind Glocks.

bubba that is what I just sold. Had a buddy that wanted one so I got rid of mine because I got it for a good enough deal long ago that I actually came out alright. Used that money and picked up a gen three g19 with the nickel boron slide that my LGS happened to have in stock, also just picked up the new CZ that was used for a pretty decent deal which also happens to be in nine. Two guns that I want to add to the safe are an HK and Sig, for no other reason than to have one.

Thanks

Walter
