Gunsmithing 260 Ackley Improved Chambering

No on the 260 to the 260 AI, the AI chamber is cut using the 260 Go gauge but stops 0.004" short than if it was use for a normal 260 chamber. The reason for the 0.004" short is to get a crush fit on the brass for upon fireforming you are tight to the boltface and fill the shoulder out entirely without a light hit on the primer due to brass shifting forward. Probably a poor description but remember the 0.004" and you will be good. ^.% CM to the 260 AI I would have to look at the prints.

Yes. It can.

Done a pile of AI cartridges originally chambered in the parent case.

You buzz a rev or two worth of thread pitch off at the shoulder and cram away with the AI reamer. HS with the appropriate gauging and go enjoy your new piece.

Easy stuff.

You should have an .004 shoulder pinch to ensure proper fire forming.

Off the top of my head I don't know. It "should" work because the 6.5CM is considerably "fatter" than the 260. Again, you have to address the cartridge case length and the shoulder Datum length to ensure it works. Likely, it'll need to be peeled back a rev or two on the shoulder.

Just get a hold of prints and do a side by side comparison.

Good luck

Looks like a LH Nesika action in a Robertson prone stock with a 30+" Palma bbl. Don't see many of the RPA ladder front sights anymore - but that's what I have on my Nesika K Palma rifle. Mine's got a Robertson H&H pattern stock, and is nearly the same color as the one in Chad's 'business card'.
