I recently bought a new completely stock DPMS lr260 remington 24"bull barrel 1-8.5 twist put a vortex viper 6.5-20x50 on it shot my first group this weekend with it. After a few adjustments I was on target manged to shoot a 3 shot 5/8 inch group at 100 yards also managed a .38 outside to out side 3 shot group at 100yds all shots were sand bagged and I was shooting federal 120 grain balistic tips. Looking for trigger replacment soon as its terrible. All in all the rifle shot a lot better than I thought but still needs improvement

Here is the group I managed the other hits were durring sighting in.

I have the same gun and it's a lights out shooter as well. I went cheap and dropped in a spare Rock River NM I had laying around, and that really helped it out, but it will eventually get a decent trigger when I get around to picking one up.

After a basic load work up, I was able to make a 10 shot 1.3" group center-to-center at 200 yards. I'm sure yours is capable of the same.

I hope mine keeps shooting this good more like hope I keep shooting this good. Hopefully soon I can get a trigger and start working up loads for it. Like to get good results out to 700 yards

Pretty darn good results!

If you're thinking about reloading, the .260 will definitely help to push you into that area.

I recently got into .260, so I understand your enthusiasm. Again, good shooting and keep it up!

I have the same rifle. Great value. Drop a trigger into it, and work up a load with some 140 gr Amax's. Working for me out to 11.

Yeah I'm planning on a trigger soon and I do plan on reloading i have everything to reload with except for the space to do it in.

700yds is where the .260 Rem just starts to be fun. Try some bullets in the 130gr weight class, like the 130gr VLD. I love the 130gr VLD in mine. Everyone told me not to even bother with the 130VLD, so it was one of the first I played with, as the chamber was cut for the 139gr Scenar.

It shoots the 139gr Scenar into .4" for 5 rounds at 100yds, as it does with the 142gr SMK and 130gr VLD. In field conditions, under stress, with poor positions, it still shoots 1 MOA or better.

The first 1000yd group I ever shot with mine measured 9.25" with an intentionally ignored wind change. If I had adjusted for wind, it would have easily been 6" or less. I love the .260 Rem gas gun.

I plan on trying the VLD's once I get my gun room set up again. Thanks for all the comments great bunch of guys here. What trigger do y'all recomend for me?
