Midway says it won't have the 6.5 Creedmoor modified cases in stock until next May. I can't image why it would take Hornady so long to make these. Anyway, is this something one can make on their own? I imagine I could just remove the spent primer from one of my already fired cases, drill and tap it and use that? Am I overlooking something? I'm setting up my first reloading bench and gathering all parts. I've got just about everything but this and a brass trimmer.

    Thanks.

I assume what your talking about is for the Stoney Point (AKA Hornady) COAL gauge correct ?

Tell ya what if you get in a bind I can throw it in my lathe and make a nice square concentric gauge for you.

I have made a few for myself over the years if I recall the correct size is 5/16-24. I would have to look

Send $15 and two cases that have been fired from your Rifle and they will make you a custom fit guage.

Guys.... This isn't difficult to make on your own:

A dremel and some sandpaper and you're in business....

The listed tap size of 5/16X24 IS WRONG, I will have to look and see what mine is. I have been make my own for years now really easy to do with the correct size drill bit and tap. Just guessing I think it was 5/16X36 had to order from a supply house.

5/16" x 36 is the proper tap and a K drill bit will do it.
Look on either amazon or fleabay for good deals.
