Gunsmithing HELP - I need some 8-40 torx head screws!!

I am looking to buy four or five 8-40 Torx head screws that are about 3/8" long. Going to use them, on my Talley fixed scope rings - the ones they supplied are a little shorter than I'd like and are only catching about 3 screw threads!!

There are a couple different Fastenal stores in the Pittsburgh area and surrounding communities...that'd be my first line of inquiry as they are local and generally will have (or be able to get in a day or two) what you are looking for. Worth a call anyway.

I bought mine off of ebay and had them in 3 days if that helps. I think I paid like $9.99 total.

I buy extra long screws from brownells and trim them to length. I also buy extra long receiver bolts from msc direct and trim them for full engagement.

I actually couldn't find any cap screws at McMaster Carr that were 8-40. 8-32 seems to be their finest pitch:

Mcmaster doesn't carry gun screws, for that Brownells has some also, seems mostly in 12 packs though.
