Getting ready to jump into a custom .260 Rem. Comp rig build and am looking at optics for it. Its down to 2 scopes. A Bushnell G2DMR and A Vortex 5-20 Razor. Honestly the only thing that sells me on the Razor is the Illumination, however I can get a new DMR for about a grand less. So forgetting about Illum. is the Vortex worth the extra money? How will each scopes glass compare to my Nightforce NXS (2nd FP) 3-15? I know Vortex has excellent customer service how about Bushnell? ( note this is a early DMR so no Zero Stop, which is a downer)

I have had both, and both are solid scopes. Im still running the bushnell on my match rifle. The g2 retical is one of the best thought out reticals on the market IMHO. The razor is a solid scope and my partner and I both ran 2 each for a while. Either scope will serve u well. FWIW I cant think of a time I have ever really used my illuminated reticals in a match.

If it were me, I'd save a grand and skip the lumination. It's not worth paying for it when you will rarely use it.

The Razor can be found used here for around $1600. The Bushnell DMR 3.5-21 runs about $1300. If you can get one for $1000 then that would be a good deal but I would get the Razor as I like to have illumination as an option and more so a zero stop. Matches with night stages depending on their illumination of the target an illuminated reticle can help.

The only time I ever use my Illum. on my NF is at our 2 night matches (Local) each year, that being said It will give me a reason to drag out the 308 for those. For now Im leaning to the DMR. Between the 2 did you notice much difference in glass quality?
