Newer member here so I'll begin by saying I am a bird hunter so my background is with shooting shotguns. I have very little experience shooting a rifle (except for my .22) and prior to today have never shot an AR. I wanted to buy a rifle that was capable of shooting accurately at longer ranges and being that I live in CA I decided to choose an AR while I still have the opportunity. My next purchase will likely be a bolt gun. The intended use of the rifle is mainly to target shoot but with the potential for occasional hunting purposes.

After much reading on this forum I plunked down a ton of cash and ordered my JP LRP-07. About 12 weeks later I had it in my hand. Today I was able to take it to my local range for it's first test.

Here's a pic of the rifle.

After shooting some cheap military issue rounds to get close to a target I switched to FGGM 168g rounds. With my scope zeroed I started to shoot groups to see what I could do. I put about 70 rounds total through the rifle and here are some of the results.

All groups are 100 yards using FGGM 168g.

.507 MOA 3 rounds

.482 MOA 3 rounds

.477 MOA 3 rounds

.874 MOA 5 rounds. When I sent the 1st round of this group I knew I pulled it. The next 4 rounds measured .378 MOA.

To say that I am pleased is an understatement. This rifle has far exceeded my expectations, especially for a newbie to any sort of precision shooting. I figured I would post this in order to help others learn what this rifle is capable of. They are not cheap but if you are considering one of these rifles I say don't hesitate.

Welcome to the LRP club--you are know ruined and more JPs will find their way into your safe.

Congrats on your new rifle--fine shooting! Time to enter into elfsters contest.

WTF? This must be JP day.

Shoot some 5 round groups, then stretch it out to 4-600 yards...

Enjoy the new JP, love mine.

Nice job and awesome write up! You should run the rifle and skills on my shootout thread! We need more jp rifles in the mix. Looks like the perfect setup!

Nicely done!
Being new to this platform It'll just get better from here.

Love my JP to and was equally impressed right from day 1.

Welcome to the club, you have one of the finest AR rifles out there. I have a LRP-07 with 18" light contour barrel and a UBR stock and am in love with my rifle. I am hoping to post pics this week as I am getting a new camera phone tomorrow. Enjoy that beautiful rifle
