Savage FCP-K muzzle brake (.223)

Quick question regarding the TPI for Savage FCP-K in .223. Can anyone verify the tpi is actually 5/8x24" instead of the standard 1/2x28" ?

I removed this thinking i may play around with some of the 1/2doz AR brakes i have laying around, oddly enough all are too small.

Could i use a 5/8x24" (.30cal) in it's place or would i lose anything by doing so?

5/8x24. The is already minimally affective due to the caliber size and charge. Switching to a .30 cal brake would make it practically useless. Then again, recoil is practically non existent on a 223 so go for it.
