The Mercedes-Benz Unimog has been used for a lot of things over the years, but this is the first time we’ve seen one converted into a camper.
Where the Unimog camper differs from every other RV out there is its ability to go off-road. In fact, off-road riding is what the Unimog does best thanks to its generous ground clearance and all-wheel drive. The suspension allows for long spring travel and impressive axle articulation. You can even control tire pressure from the driver’s seat so you can switch from on-road to off-road riding instantly.
Powered by a 4,249cc, four-cylinder, diesel engine, the Unimog camper produces 218 horsepower. The unit is also home to a hydraulic winch that can pull seven metric tones.
As for the interior, the inside of the camper measures 14.2 feet long and 7.2 feet wide with a standing height of 6.4 feet. The roof and walls of the three-point mounted, thermal bridge-free fibreglass-reinforced plastic box are two inches thick, standing on a 2.4-inch thick floor. The hatches and doors all come with hollow rubber seals and multi-point locks, which help protect the stowage compartments against dust or water.
