I am having a 700 action trued with a 16.5" MTU barrel spiral fluted installed and can't figure out what to go with for a chassis or stock. I was originally set on an AICS 2.0 but have been rethinking because of weight. I"m not real weight conscious or I wouldn't have went with an MTU contour but I want to be able to pack this into the timber without having to lift weights for the next few months. I have considered the XLR carbon chassis, it's quite a bit lighter than a 2.0 but I need to have my scope base milled down and get different height rings. Any other ideas from those running similar setups?

I have really considered the KRG since I already have one and really like the feel of it. I have been back and forth on the Mcree chassis, not sure how I feel about the looks of them. I really like the Manners but don't like the wait time involved with one. I have checked several vendors that carry Manners and none of them have anything for an MTU contour barrel. I was originally thinking a T5A with a Badger M5 inlet and having RWS bed it while it was at his shop rather than send everything back to him.

I have bought several of the Manners MCS-T stocks for builds and have used many others. Super all around stock and my favorite go to stock. Love a Sendero contour 18" barrel in 1 of those stocks. Extremely well balanced and a joy to pack around.

Love both my XLR's.

The folding butt is adjustable for LOP, cant, and cheek rest. No need for bottom metal. Front free float tube like the AR15.

I wouldn't build with anything else.

No, it will be used for target shooting about 75% of the time, used for deer hunting one or two weekends a year and coyote calling about 8-10 times a year. I have been wanting a short rifle for a while and the wife was wanting a nice .308 bolt gun after shooting my .308 this summer so I figured I would kill two birds with one stone with this build. However, I wanted enough weight to the rifle to keep recoil to a minimum for her but don't want it so heavy that it's too much to carry. Before anyone asks I am having a Badger FTE installed so she will enjoy shooting this rifle.

I ended up with a AICS 2.0, the prices this week made it too hard to pass up. I guess I better start working out and quit being such a pussy lol.

I went with a 2.0 on this 16 inch 300 Blackout and am now wanting something lighter. Between the scope and chassis it is just to heavy for it's intended purpose. Add the 1.5lbs of suppressor and it's even worse. Eventually it will most likely wear a conventional light weight stock and a scope made for the BO.

Good luck with your build.
