JP trigger Reset issue

So I did some searching and I couldn't find anything, I aplogise if this is a repost I am hoping it is not.

I took my 3-gun type build 18in AR out last night to range and had the place to myself so I was doing some drills transitioning to targets and things and was trying to focus on getting a feel for the trigger reset on my JP trigger I have installed in this gun. This Lower was the first I installed it in myself and I recently installed the Fast Hammer and I put it through all the test in the video that is included. The issue I was running into was I would feel the reset and then I would pull the trigger and I would get like a fraction of a second lag between when I would pull trigger and when rifle would fire. Now this is very strange and extremely hard to fire, felt like I was shooting an old musket waiting for fuse to hit powder.

I am well aware of my mechanical abilities and I am relatively certain it is either the way I was shooting or the way I installed the trigger, betting more on second.

If anyone could give me some ideas it is frustrating. I followed the trigger install video from JP?

Did you tune the disconnector according to the instructions? This and failing to red loc-tite the set screws are some of the biggest points that are often missed.

Also, some people disregard the instructions where it explains backing off an additional quarter or half turn when setting up the take-up.

I'm guessing from your description that your disconnector needs to be tuned. Go very slow and remove only a small amount of material at a time, following the directions.

You have excess disconnector sear engagement, which is hanging up when you release trigger tension as you try to manipulate the trigger.

You will also want to make sure that the parts are not dragging on the inside walls of the receiver. This can also cause the trigger to have 'drag' or feel sluggish when resetting. If need be you can remove a small amount of material from both sides of the trigger and the hammer to make sure the have proper clearance and move freely on the anti-walk pins.

Sounds about right I did just put in the speed hammer and I did the tests but I didn't end up needing to remove anything from the dis connector. Maybe I went too fast when testing. I only used blue locktite not red, I have some red. Ill see if I can track down the JP install video disk or I am sure it is posted online somewhere. I don't remember this problem before I put the speed hammer in.

If you're using KNS pins, back off a touch and see if it improves. Just went down that path and all good now.

just checking back to let everyone know......loosened tje KNS pins and made sure they were moving put 70 or so rounds down pipe today and no delayed fires, seems gtg.
