I picked up 5000 rds RWS match ammo a while back and shot it for the first time yesterday. At 50 yards it shot right along with Eley 10X through two of my Win 52's.
Anyone else try it? Has a Nickel plated case so no danger of getting it mixed up with other ammo I shoot.

I picked up 4 bricks of the RWS 50 at the beginning of the year.
Either I got lucky and was shipped the best of the run, or they make some consistent ammo.
The factory barrel on my 455 Varmint prefers it over Lapua and Eley.

My walther shoots r50 better than lapua center-x. I have some eley match eps I have been wanting to compare it to, but have yet to shoot it. I am not a fan of the rws target stuff though. It is not as consistent, and seems to have a lot more lube on it, which gave me extraction problems on my savage mkii. I had to clean the bolt face and breech after about 50-75 rounds on a consistent basis to keep rounds from sticking and not extracting. If you wipe the excess lube off, they are fine, but I don't feel like wiping a couple of hundred rounds down everytime I want to shoot, especially on mid-level ammo (it was about $6.25 or so a box when I bought it).

R50 is the exclusive diet in my 40X... haven't tried the Match. Would be worth the attempt though if it is shooting that well for you rth

My ammo is marked R50 SPECIAL MATCH QUALITY. That might just be the same that you are calling r50????

I haven't tried the match, but I got a brick of Special Match and it does far better than tenex through my Anschutz 1710. I just picked up a brick of RWS target rifle and a brick of r100, but I haven't tried either yet. I'm hoping to get a chance to test both of them this weekend and will report back with my results. I haven't measured groups, but the Special Match at 50 yards has consistently been putting 5 rounds through a hole no more than 2 bullet widths across, so I'm impressed with it!

I had a couple of chances to shoot some RWS this weekend. I fired about 40 rounds each of Target Rifle, Special Match and R100. I was shooting off of a bag on the hood of my truck at a 50 yard target with an Anschutz 1710. It was very windy and I had a few fliers that I attribute to wind gusts, but for the most part, all three of them were putting the bullets through the same hole, again with most 5 shot groups no more than 2 bullet widths across. I did shoot one 5 shot group with the r100 at 125 yards and that group measured about 1.25 inches. The r100 and Special Match performed equally well, with the target rifle performing almost as good, but with an occasional flier (could have been the wind). I've tested numerous varieties of ammo lately and I like all three of these RWS rounds better than anything else I've shot. I definitely like the r100 and Special Match a little better than the target rifle, but with the price difference, I would happily purchase more target rifle as its performance was quite good.

Out of my 40x it shows only acceptable accuracy. At 100 with 10 shots out was in the .8-.9 range where the eley was in the .3-.5 range with lapua a very close second. At 50 it shows more promise through shooting into the .3 range

I shoot RWS subsonic rounds out of my Pardini for bullseye target shooting. Its performance is flawless which is more than I can say about my own.
