Anybody using Thumler Tumler to clean brass ? If so, does it do a good job ? Where can I get stainless steel cleaning media ? I am trying to get my cases looking new!

Just be sure to read the instructions and lube the bushings before you burn your motor out.

I love mine, got the 5lb bag of SS media from midway when it was on sale. Been using lemishine and cascade dishwasher detergent and my primer pockets are still a little dirty no matter how long I tumble....might try dawn to see of the results are a little different as from what I've seen online others have spotless primer pockets.

Question for you guys: I just got my brass back from being SS cleaned and was told to rechamfer due to peening. Do you guys really gotta do that after each cleaning?

Yes you need to chamfer after tumbling as it does peen the inside of the case mouth. It's a small inconvenience really though don't let it put you off.

On mass consumption brass I just tumble for a couple hours, then resize and load. Precision stuff I decap, tumble for a couple hours, neck size, chamfer then load. If I need FL size Ill do that after the initial tumble, then tumble again to get the case lube off, then chamfer and load. Make sure to get some form of separator to get the pins out easier then blow them off with compressed air. Works great and even weathered range brass comes out looking like new.

Definitely get the Thumlers. I picked one up a couple years ago and I haven't looked back. Pick up some Lemishine, blue Dawn, and enjoy brass that looks brand new.

Longrangefool - I chamfer/deburr all of my rifle brass after running through the tumbler. It's probably not necessary, but I do it anyways. Also, I anneal after every firing. If you anneal right after tumbling, you don't need to worry about letting the cases dry :)

Yeah the cascade dishwasher detergent does not work as good. Use blue dawn or Ivory soap with Lemishine for best results. We are still running the discount codes for Hide members. Everything will be on sale on Monday.

Well I just tested the blue 2x dawn with the lemishine and can conclude it does indeed clean the primer pockets.

That's the ticket with SS media works well, I decap the brass, clean with tumbler, then rinse in clean
distilled water and dry however you chose.

Absolutely, don't hesitate a bit to spend the money! They are reloading for the 21st century! No more primer pocket cleaning, neck cleaning, and your results are measurably better than anything than can be achieved tumbling the old way. FWIW, I tried a ultrasonic cleaner first and was very disappointed. Actually bought my Dad one for his birthday last year and he couldn't believe the results. I actually just finished tumbling some 9x fired Lapua 308 and it literally looks brand new.
