Gunsmithing What actions are avialable the are most like the Surgeon 591

I have a 591 action and a friend is wanting to build one like it. Surgeon is not takeing orders and paticularly not for actions only. Is there another action out there with the Remington 700 footprint, One piece rail, body and recoil lug all together? I was thinking of Stillers SS viper but that is square body. I dont see another one Stiller sells that is monoblock design.

defiance deviant has an integrated scope base and recoil lug.

if your friend wants a surgeon, he could go used or buy a built rifle from them that is inventory?

this action is better than the surgeon in every way, and yes, I have owned both

I've owned actions from both Surgeon and Defiance. Without a doubt, I'd go with Defiance again.

If I didn't go with a bighorn TL2 for my current Beanland build, I would've gladly went with a Bat tactical.

I have chambered a couple Defiance Rebel actions and did note just how nice they are but I did not know they made the Deviant action. That is very nice. When I chambered the Defiance Rebel actions one of them needed a bolt swap for a new bolt face and I called Defiance. Very good guys to deal with and I think this is the one to get. I asked him about the finish on them. He said they tumble them for a very long time in the stainless pins to get that luster finish.
