My buddy wants to buy one of these. It has a 1 n 9" twist and since he wants to hunt deer with it will it shoot 65 grain Sierra bullets accurately? I reload these bullets for my Colt LE6920 M4 which has a 1 in 7" twist and shoots them very well. I also just got a Bushnell 4.5-18x40mm scope which I think IMHO is much clearer and sharper than the Leupold 3-9x40mm scope I am replacing.

Anyway what do you think about this rifle and bullet? He wants to keep the price as low as possible and still get a good rifle.

Its about as cheap and entry level as you can get and doesnt have a free float handguard... Spend about 200 to 300 dolars more and get a rock river ATH that will do anything you need it to do from hunting to bug hole shooting at the range...

Plus it has a 1:8twist which is great for heavy bullets. 18inch stainless barrel...... Free float handguard, and an ok trigger..

Trust me on this...

Can I just get a Rock River ATH upper for my Colt LE6920 M4 and will it be a straight attachment to the Colts lower and shoot as good? I put a Geissele AAS-E trigger in it. If I can what would be a good price for just the upper?

My dpms oracle, not sportacle, with a 1-9 twist does not shoot anything over 55 gr well. It does shoot hornady 55 gr zombie max ammo 1 moa or better (at 100 y). There may be rifles more suited to your goals...

not sure on this... maybe someone else can chime in on your question. I've always purchased complete rifles.

I have one of these also. DPMS 3G1. Was able to get sub moa all day long on the shootout boards with it also. Amazing rifle for the money. JP trigger, Vtac free float handguard, 18" 1:8 twist stainless barrel, badger tactical latch, & Miculek Compensator for about $1000 to $1100 dollars. It's a real toss up between this & and rock river ATH.... It's a whole lot of rifle for $1k, and I'm able to get sub moa all day long, 6 total 5shot groups, 30 total rounds all under 1" @ 100yards which is pretty damn good with a 1-4 power scope.... im almost scared to put my 4-16 vortex on this rifle as I think I'd like it too much:

+1 on anything RRA. I have several RRA's some not even fired yet. My Varmint A4 shoots handloads .5" @ 100 all day long. I've got about 25 AR's from Noveske, WC, Stag, Addax, Les B, etc. The RRA's all shoot sub moa, and the 1/8 twist WYLDE is my favorite chamber made for the .556"/.223. Spend a lil, more and you will be much happier. I've owned a few DPMS guns but none of them compared to the RRA's. That being said I also own a cpl newer DPMS that do pretty well also, but the 1/8 will shoot from 36gr Barnes VG, to the 77gr OTM sub moa.
