now that my deer season has wound down I took an inventory of my pack to get ready for varmint season. I took a pick of the things that stay in my pack year round, depending on what I'm hunting I will add the appropriate calls. I noticed I have lost my first aid kit somewhere.

the pack is a 5.11 rush12 in multicam
contents
extra ammo for both my pistol and rifle
extra knife(other than my pocket knife)
2 lights handheld and headlamp
batteries(for light, trailcam, rangefinder, ect)
binoculars
rangefinder
kestrel
notepad and pencils
memory cards(for trail cam)
11in 1 screwdriver and folding allen wrench sets
coyote calls
first aid kit
bipod

post up what you carry.

no pics (maybe later) but I would include

glow stick = marking downed game for retrieval at night.
lighter or matches
gutting gloves
compass

extra jersey gloves
hand warmers
paracord

I am more of a walk out and camp, than hunt and stalk hunter

that's what I was going to order until I saw what I linked to in my op. i like the space i'll save in my pack putting them together. generally if i have one out i'll have the other out, so having them together makes since.

In addition to my clothing and side arm I typically carry:

Tripod
Pocket knife
Extra jacket
Hand warmers
Seat (if it's not already at the blind/stand)
LRF
Dope chart
Write in rain pocket notebook and pen
Regular pocket notebook and pen
Deer piss
Foam things for deer piss
Rattling antlers (sometimes)
Extra mag in case for some reason I miss 4-10 times with the first one, or extra ammo in a pouch for BDL style rifles
Extra pistol mag
Couple surefires (I carry a spare instead of batteries)
Couple glow sticks
Couple lengths of para cord
Snacks, sandwich or MRE
Grocery bag for any trash
6 pack of brew

In addition to this I think I'm going to start bringing a roll of duct tape, or leaving some in a baggy in each blind to seal leaks. If I'm walking around a lot of this stuff gets left behind. I typically don't bother carrying a dressing knife because I retrieve them with the tractor, I dont like to gut them near where I'm hunting. Depending on what rifle I'm using, distance I'll be shooting, position I'll be shooting I may leave the tripod for a regular shooting stick or may not take any at all.

LIGHTS! Forgetting lights screwed me on my elk hunt in October. Shot a 6x5 right before dark and out of 3 people... none of us had any kind of light. So... now I know what to pack. There are a couple other things listed that are good ideas, too.

I got an eberlestock X3 LoDrag that I carry,

LRF-Vectronix Terrapin

I always carry some taller support. If I know I will need it I carry my PRS tripod or Harris long bipods, think so my Stoney point shooting sticks, don't think so I still carry those snap together sticks. LOL

4 different flashlights- 1 handheld surefire, one headlamp, 2 clip on cap kind. One red, one blue. Very small and light-

Small dope book, very small

Extra mag with ammo in it.

Harris or Atlas Bipod

Game call

Toilet stuff-wipes-hand sanitizer

Food and water. Source bladder full and peanuts crackers and tuna, sawyer water filter too

Tab Rear bag, shooting mat, and sling

Small Rain jacket-gloves, scarf, beanie, thermals, extra socks, jacket, all depending on the weather. Summer most of that not there.

Grocery bag and stuff for cleaning animal. Usually don't have to use it but I carry it anyway, too small and light not to.

Small little camo bag that has bore snake, firestarter, poncho, rubber bands, binder clips, lens pen, allen wrenchs, lens spuds.

And Batteries, surefire, terrapin, and flir use 123 A, then a few AA for the PVS 14 and headlamp.

And depending on what I'm doing and the law the other stuff would be:

FLIR M24 Recon now
PVS14
Kestrel
PDA
Suppresor when the law will allow. Cmon Louisiana LOL

I try to go as light as possible. If hunting behind the house its just a rifle ammo and flashlight.
I'm sure there are some other things

I hunt public land that only allows foot traffic. That means I need to be hands free to pull my deer cart behind me on the first day.
X3 LoDrag with HSGI battle belt.

I carry a knife, sharpener, lighters & firestarter kit, candle, emergency blanket, stainless steel cup, tea, soup mix, canteen of water, paracord, first aid kit, saw, 8x10 tarp, gloves, spare sox, mini mag and spare batteries, .22 mag revolver and 50 rounds, toilet paper, baggies, 30' nylon rope, trash bag, energy bars, pencil and paper, water purification straw and tablets. I ran bear and lion dogs for a long time and have spent the night several times with just this pack.

Went duck hunting yesterday and got soaking wet on the way in then froze my butt off when we were set up. Would have packed everything up and gone home without this setup. Cooked up some oatmeal and warmed the soul. IMG_0579.jpg
