Forster bump die flexibility?

I've been wanting a Forster 308 bump die for some time, and it is out of stock everywhere. Could I buy a 260 or 7-08 die (that are in stock) without bushings, and use the appropriate bushings? The outer die should be to the same dimensions, correct? Thanks-

While I use my Redding 6.5CM neck die with a correctly sized bushing for the 6 Creedmoor I don't know that I can say the Forster bump die could do the same thing. It has a different purpose (but you know that) and I am not sure the bump function would work correctly.

That won't work unless Forster modifies it. The inner diameter of die for fired case neck to fit through leading up to bushing won't allow your 308 neck to pass.

I had them modify a 6.5-284 to fit a straight 284 Winchester. Unmodified it wouldn't allow my case neck to pass and it's a fairly tight chamber.

They make the dies to maximize surface area of steel that contacts brass case shoulder it seems, which is a good thing.

You are correct. I called Forster and they told me so. There are no 308 bump dies anywhere to be found, so I had to order one from Nova Scotia! God the internet is a nifty tool!
