Should I just get the HBR? What do you guys recommend for me? I will shoot prone mostly. Not off of a bench.

So the swivel is the difference in this and what I was looking at. Thanks for the link. Are there any negatives to using the swivel?

Is there a better swivel pod out there before I go spending money on the lock up devices guys recommend on this Harris BP? Thanks.

Just another option for you to consider if you want to look into it, is to put a Seekins SRS rail on the bottom of your stock and then attach a Atlas bipod.

I've owned a couple different Harris bipods, including the 6-9 recommended in this thread. I purchased an Atlas recently and I must say, it was worth EVERY penny. If I could do it all over again, I would have just bought the Atlas and been done with it. Get the one with the QD mount and don't look back. Yes, it's extra coin, but if you plan on staying with this sport, there's a good chance you'll end up buying an Atlas down the road anyways. Sure, some guys prefer the Harris, but for me and many others the Atlas is the way to go. The ability to load the bipod is a huge advantage in keeping your position consistent through recoil, especially for a novice shooter like myself.

You can load any bipod if you like although it's not a required thing to do. Good fundamentals will keep proper position during recoil whether loading or not.

Thanks for clarifying, you're absolutely right, the fundamentals will make or break your shot. I could have worded my post a bit differently. If you want to load the bipod, you can definitely dig in with the Harris (as demonstrated by Lowlight in the online training). I have found the Atlas to be more forgiving when shooting on hard surfaces.

There's a lot of advantage to having the swivel on your bipod and several disadvantages to not having one. Get the swivel and don't look back.
