What is the pros and cons between Nightforces mil-dot and MLR reticles? Also, if a rookie(me) was to teach themselves mil-dot would it be beneficial to have the mil turrets not the MOA ones correct. Making it more precise to judge distance? Thanks in advance.

The MLR is a far better reticle. It is more precise and has half mil hash marks.
Keep with a turret and reticle that match (mil/mil)

^^^ Yep. Hash mark reticles are easier to use and easier to break down into further subtensions than the mil dots. There's no reason at all to select a scope with different units for the turrets and reticle if you have the option of getting one that's mil/mil or moa/moa.

Yeah it will be confusing working with those nightforce moa turrets with mildot reticles. I dont know how easy it is to find mil/mil nightforce besides the f1 but you can find moa turrets with the moar on the cheaper nxs models. That is a pretty decent reticle and you could learn pretty easy with it. If you have the money id get the f1 and do mil/mil. To answer the original question between mildot and mlr, the mildot is just not as precise for holds. Theyre one mil increments with no fine holds for .2 or .5 mil holds.

I have a nightforce 3-15 by 50 now but its moa and my leupold is mil. I do not want to have two different theories to master hence unloading the nightforce moa and buying mil. I need to research F1. They are pricey.

The vortex razor is a good option right now. Its very durable, mil/mil, ffp, zero stop, better glass than the nxs scopes and now with the new razors coming out, you can pick up the 5-20x50 for around 1400 used and 1600 new.
