Hi,

Does anyone know where I can purchase and XLR evolution chassis from that will ship to England?

I have spoken to Kyle at XLR and he has informed me they are not set up for export in house, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Luke

Nobody is a dealer for xlr so I don't know any other option than to get someone in the states that you know to maybe take delivery of the stock and then ship it to you. It's not like it's a firearm so it would be like shopping anything else. Honestly, other than the extra effort and cost I don't see why Kyle couldn't just do it.

The only concern I'd have is if it is ITAR related it'd be a pain in the ass to get shipped legally. I couldn't find anything on it saying it *IS* ITAR related, but that doesn't mean it doesn't meet the definition. Personally I think they worded the United States Munitions List so dagum vague they can catch pretty nigh anything they feel like. This is the clause I think the XLR Chassis (or any other chassis, really) falls into:

*(g) Barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames) or complete breech mechanisms for the articles in paragraphs (a) through (d) of this category.

(a) is "Nonautomatic and semi-automatic firearms to caliber .50 inclusive (12.7mm).

Maybe, just maybe, you might make the argument that it isn't a "receiver" since it isn't the serialized part, but since they added "frames" I think it's a very shaky stance to take. Not one I'd risk, personally. I believe there is a process to officially and legally export ITAR items, but it is lengthy and extremely bureaucratic. Not something most want to deal with.

Sorry to play Donny-downer, I just don't want anyone to get in trouble accidentally. Here is the link to the whole USML:

Thanks for the help guys, I did study the ITAR info i could find online but as far as I could figure out I couldn't see how it fell into the regulations, as it is essentially a stock, not a receiver or a fundamental part of a firearm.

I guess I will have to keep searching and try to get one out somehow

I do not think it should come uinder the regulations.
My last McM is on order still, but i get them shipped to me directly from the US without any export regulations.
The same would go for the UK i assume.
As for the XLR wether it falls under ITAR due to the chassis construction and magwell, i can not say with 100% certainty.
As for if you ever need to get a ITAR item out of the US, you're best bet is to contact a company that does this for a living, they will take care of the whole paper mill required for a export lisence, for a few hundred dollars usually.
You would of course, have to procure you're own Import license in you're country, and send it over, along with identification papers and purchase order.

So it's certainly possible to get the chassis to the UK even if under ITAR regulations, but might be more costly and time consuming then you would like.

IF there is no regulations, and the producer still won't ship out of the country, witch is the case of several US companies.
There are a few companies that rents out US mail boxes to ship stuff through, witch would be a option.

There are also a few European importers that would make this whole thing go a whole lot more smoothly, will just be a bit more expensive.

Rimfiremagic.co.uk , is a UK company and they can get hold of a XLR chassis for you, I think this would be the easiest solution to you're problem.

Vertebrae.no do also carry them, but there is in many cases export regulations put on the European Importers from the US gov, to not re export these items, so wether they can help you or not i can't answer on you're behalf.

thanks for the info i have been in contact with rimfire magic and they want as much in £GBP as they cost in $USD for a damaged one that requires repainting, I have a friend traveling in the US at the moment so I might see about him bringing me one back if I can organize the necessary arrangements.

Thanks Guys
