anyone here own/using a LR-308 with a bull barrel? I'm thinking DMPS and have been told they're surprisingly accurate.

I owned a DPMS 24" bull barrel and it was a 1 to 1.25 moa on average rifle... If you wanted a starter 308 for under 1k and was 100% a bench target or varmint prone rifle, then its hard to beat. The first one i owned jam'd non stop and took it back to the big box store i purchased it from and forced them to give me a new one... The replacement shot flawless. Ive seen them sell for under 1k dollars

They are stupid heavy.... Makes my LMT feel like an ar15 and that is saying a lot!

I have a dpms lr308 with the fluted barrel and it shoots fgmm unde an inch all day and hand loads a little better. For the money you wont do any better. Between me and a couple buddies we have everything from lmt's to sigs to pof's to scars and everyone gets pissed when they see the so called peice of shit shoot just as good as there more expensive rifle.

Good! it fits my budget and I'm strictly a bench shooter. I've got all the reload stuff for the 308 and aside from wondering how a bull barrel does with rapid fire as opposed to a chrome lined... the top of the hill is 800 yards from the front door. ;-)
