Hey guys, not sure if this the appropriate place for this question but I am being offered the trade of this rifle for some of my gear and I really don't know enough about it to assess a value. Was wondering if someone could help.

Info he provided:

Its a custom 6BR with a shehane stock, kelbly polar action. It was built by Bruce Baer with a 26" shilen barrel 1:8 twist .262 6BR. Shilen 1 oz trigger. 14' polar rail gun action with a tapered base. Has a 12-42 nightforce on it.

Thanks

Thanks, I would probably resell. I have been in the marked for a long range gun for a while but I'm not sure that I want to mess around with trying to turn the necks on bass for the .262 load. It would be my first attempt at reloading so maybe not the best place to start huh? I like the look of the rifle and think it would be fun to shoot but not sure if its worth the trouble.

You might could have a good gunsmith try to recut the chamber but likely easier to just have it cut back and rechambered with a "no turn" reamer. The 6BR is a great round. Very easy to get accuracy and brass will last a while if not pushed too hard. The prices I gave you would be "keeper" prices. Less if you are just going to resell.

If your are just getting into this type of shooting/reloading, that is not the rifle for you. I would pass on it. Even to just turn around and sell it would be difficult as only a select crowd is going to be wanting a rifle like that.
