I was browsing the Promotive site, seeking what new brands I can get a discount on, and decided to check out Bushnell. I found that I get a sweat price on the Elite Tactical 3.5-21x50 riflescope, and wanted to know if this would make a good first scope for LR shooting? I was planning on a SWFA SS scope, but for a little more money I can get the Bushnell...

Do a search on here and you will find that they are good scopes. I have two bushnells the ers 3.5-21 and xrs 4.5-30. The g2 reticle is bad ass. They don't come illuminated but I don't use my illumination that much on my uso lr17 so its a non issue with me. Is the one your are looking at have 10mil turret and zero stop or is it the older 5mil turn? Either are good but I like the newer models with zero stop and 10mil turret. Using the search on here will aid you in research/ learning.

Have you been able to determine exactly which model it is? I saw that deal, too, but the information is lacking. Says it has a tactical ranging reticle? Which one is that?

I am going to contact them and see just what model it is they are retailing at that price. Hopefully its the .10 mil, zero stop, with G2 reticle

That would be outstanding if it was. It actually isn't a bad price even if it is 5 mil with the G2.

It's the 5 Mil per Rev, non zero stop, G2DMR reticle.

It's a smokin' deal on Promotive and you'd be crazy to pay alot more for the SWFA 5-20

It's an excellent scope all the way around, beginner or expert.

Can you explain what the 5 mil vs 1 mil difference equates to?

No it's 5 mil per complete turn of the elevation knob verses 10 mil per turn of the more expensive version. Both are .1 mil per click.

I have the SWFA and Bushnell Elite g2 , At that price grab the Elite with G2 ret and a nice set of 34mm rings and good to go.

I wish they had their damn 1600 Elite Arc rangefinder on their Promotive deals!

To answer your question, OP, get the optic if you have the money. It is an absolute killer deal, to be found nowhere else.

Check Cabela's on the rangefinder. They had them on sale for 349.00 plus 20 bucks off with a coupon code on their website. I ordered one two days ago, but now they don't even show up on the website. Maybe a temporary glitch.

thanks, Vandal. My shooting partner did purchase one for their sale price 399.99. Typically, the Promotive stuff is even better than that price. In fact, the Promotive price on the Zeiss PRF is so good that makes it a no-brainer choice over the Bushnell. Depending on the company, prices will be anywhere from 25-60% off MSRP on Promotive.

Iron Worker and Carpentier - which link are you all looking for? If it is for the promotive site, you do need to register, and in order to register, you have to meet certain qualifications (many who belong are government employees and even some retail store employees; LE, firefighters, military, etc...comprise the majority of their membership). The website is just promotive.com, then you search the brand from there.

That bushnell is a hell of a scope.

You may also want to check out the Steiner deals depending on what your budget is. They are offering substantial discounts on some of theirs as well.

I thought that about the PRF too, until they wanted to add sales tax and shipping on the end of the order.... it was no cheaper than calling up a Hide vendor. I'm talking about the Monocular, not the LRF Binos.

To the OP ... I bought that Bushnell through Promotive in mid-December. Everyone here is correct: it's the DMR with G2 reticle, .1 MRAD, 5 MIL per revolution.

Great scope for the $$. Was going to go with a Leupold Mark 4 FFP M5 6.5-20x through their LEO/Mil program ... but the Bushnell was a much better buy with a much better reticle than the Leupold. I did, however, go for the Mark 4 rings -- that was a pretty good deal.

Thanks much. I will be picking one up eventually. Now I have to learn the whole MIL and MRAD system. Any input?
