It is arguably the best made rifle saddle out there if you want to lock a gun in and go hands free.
I will have a review up soon. I took it out to the range on a training day awhile back and with it mounted to a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod it handled every rifle there. It doesn't matter if it's a round or square AR or a traditional rifle stock.
I was rocking the 300 yard steel plate with my AR10 mounted in the saddle from a STANDING position. If you learn how to drive it, with a beefy tripod you come right back on target.
What ball head/head unit combo is everyone using with the Hog Saddle? I have one on order but I am pretty sure my Manfrotto 484RC2 head is not strong enough to handle the saddle with the rifle and recoil.
Not too bad for a guy who spent the night before and early morning at the craps table. LOL
This was my first Shot Show and it went real well. It was great getting to meet so many Snipers Hide members. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

The new Mil-Spec Aluminum Knob Assembly is now available. You can purchase one Here
CNC machined aluminum knob and threaded stainless steel rod in black oxide. This kit allows a Hog Saddle customer to replace their polyurethane knob with our Mil-Spec aluminum knob. The aluminum knob is completely drop-in ready, no assembly or skill required.

Call me next time, or have Tony call me. I am going to work on my schedule next year so I have more social time. I would have loved to meet you in person.
Nomad, it was nice meeting you and the "street-walker". LOL
I'll make sure to give you a call next year LoneWolfUSMC. The week went by fast and I only met half the people I intended to. I was smoked by the end of the show.
I don't see another group buy any time soon.
At this point I'm selling them as fast as I can make them. When things slow down I'll consider another one. Most likely it would be towards the end of the year.
Hog Saddles are In-Stock and ready to ship if still interested in a regular priced unit. Link to Store

That is the width between the rubber pads. You can probably squeeze out an extra tenth or so. </div></div>
This is what LoneWolfUSMC measured out a few months ago.
I have a knob extension kit in the works that will allow the Hog Saddle to open to 3". The kit will also include a stop-nut to prevent the Hog Saddle from being disassembled in the field.
A special tripod or head is not needed. The Hog Saddle will mount to the majority of tripod systems out there.
I've ran into a couple large tripod heads, made for video production, that needed a spacer plate to elevate the Hog Saddle from the extra-wide tripod head base.
Manfrotto, Gitzo, and Bushnell are popular brands that guys are mounting Hog Saddles to.
I don't have any pics of the bottom, but the saddle threads on just like a camera. There is a 1/4-20 threaded hole and a larger threaded hole (can't remember the thread size offhand).
If you use a regular tripod you can just screw the saddle onto the tripod like you do with a camera. I prefer to use a Manfrotto Tripod and their RC2 plates. I keep a plate on the bottom of the saddle and other plates on my camera gear, spotter, etc. It's very fast to setup and break down and to change as I need it.
The two mounting holes are 1/4-20 and 3/8-16.
Both are standard thread sizes for the photography/video industry. I've never seen a tripod with mounting threads other than the two listed above.

Yup, this works well. Here's the bottom of the Hog Saddle w/ a Manfrotto QD plate attached.
ETA: On a separate note, you can see the simple modification I did to the Hog Saddle; I threaded the end of the shaft and added a small button head machine screw as a hard stop just to ensure I don't lose the end plate.
LBT, London Bridge Trading from the label but it looks like that was a kit. I have the same tripod and spotter but would also like to know what model or what the case is known as when contacting them about it.
Yes it's LBT.....I've owned this spotter scope setup for a long time.....Premier Recticle sold this kit before they closed there doors to the public and started there USMC contract for the (USMC 8541 Scope) in 06......I'm not sure if Premier had these specially made up??????? I'll put more detailed pictures up in a few days.....
