This board makes it very tough to pick between all the AR10 type rifles. For the money the A10 SAAS looks like a good deal for me. My cost is $2364. and are in stock. Unlike the other rifles that have a long back order line. It looks like I could replace the trigger with a Geissele so is there anything else that needs or should be replaced ? I have no problems with the OBR , LMT , GAP-10 & others just don't need to pay more if i'am not getting more. If the fit and finnish or machining are not all that great on the Armalite than I will change to something else.

Armalite makes good stuff, I have owned several in the past. You can also get the LMT for about 2500 - 2600. I am sure it will be good, might not be as accurate as the OBR or GAP. Do you know if it is an A model or B Model and if its a current production gun. I will say the the Tactical trigger in it nice but not as good as some of the aftermarket ones.

One major difference with the Armalite SASS rifle is that it has an adjustable gas block that does not need tools to adjust, and is set up for suppressed and unsuppressed settings.

AR10A SuperSASS 7.62 RIFLE

I also really like the forge quality and machine work on Armalite's guns. They have the best bolt carrier group on the market, hands-down. I wish I had never sold my 24" Eagle Arms EA-10T back in the day. Armalite is Eagle Arms re-branded, for those who don't know. The original Armalite of Fairchild Aerospace was a totally different company, based in Hollywood, CA.

The price is my wholesale cost. The A model is in stock today , they have three. If the barrel is not all that great I will just cut it down to 16" and buy another blank and thread and chamber it , no big deal. Are the upper & lower fitted as nice as the LMT , OBR & GAP ?

Fit and Finish is good. Overall quality is good. I am partial to the A models as they use the same mags as my other 308 AR rifles. I think personally the lmt is ambi and over all a better rig, but is it worth the extra money that depends on what you are using it for. The OBR and GAP will always have a tighter fit because they are billet and not forged. Your lower will also take an LMT upper if you ever wanted to swap.

<---------Owns Armalite Super SASS. No issues with fit, finish or machining. Shoots very nice and accurately. I only have 200 rnds down the tube so I have not tried grouping yet, but it passed the Army's specification for accuracy. I cant remember why Knight's beat it out, but the Armalite is a nice rifle. The A & B modles mean one takes the P-Mags and ships with one, the other is Armalite Specific. I would say buy with confidence.

Agree on fit & finish is great! The trigger is more then sufficient for precision shooting. That flash hider on the other hand Needs to go and be replaced by a muzzle brake!!

The rumor I read on the internet a couple years ago was KAC won because of physical security at the plant where the rifles where made...

Otherwise the Armalite SASS was the front runner.

Rest easy on your purchase, it WILL shoot the lights out. I never seen an Armalite that didn't...

I've had an Armalite SuperSASS about 4 1/2 years now and it is one of my favorite guns. It almost always goes to the range with me.
