Colorado springs?

Just picked up a contract down there. Anything I need to see or do while I am there.

These are all kind of touristy things but worth seeing at least once.

Go see garden of the gods.
climb/drive up Pikes Peak
check out Cave of the winds
Check out the Air Force Academy
Pick up some cool gifts for wife/GF/Family at Van Briggle pottery
Check out Manitou Springs
If you're feeling adventurous and need some excitement in your life, check out some of the sites on Nevada Ave and 8th street

Pikes Peak is a good drive to the top.

You could see our new weed economy complete with a dude who dresses up like Willy Wonka and his buddy dressed up like an Oompa Loompa.

They are on Colfax Ave, if you feel like coming up north a bit.

You could see the Broncos before they are eliminated from the playoffs.

You could check out our lovely crop of transgendered third graders who wreck the lives of girls by forcing themselves into the girl's bathrooms, wrecking the rights of the normal 99.99% of the population.

Otherwise this state sucks ripe balls and you should take as much money as you can off these bastards and split.

Bwahahaha!

Nail, meet hammer.

I plan on humping every dollar I can out of Colorado and then spending it all in Montana. I spent 6 months pipelining in rifle/parachute. Colorado has fallen to the Californians. Makes me sad.

If you're in to rodeo, there is the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. The AF Academy has a good visitor center. If you have some time, head SW to Royal Gorge

You guys have some good looking girls. Sick of the dykie looking hoggers here in casper, good to have some fresh meat available.

Third Saturday of every month there's a steel prairie dog match in Pueblo. That's just 30 minutes south of the Springs. They're bitchy little targets at 425. Big fun.

I have family in the Pueblo area. Probably gonna spend my free time there.

Looks fun Tim, would give me a chance to really test out my repr. Only thing I am worried about is traveling in the state with semi auto rifles and hi cap magazines. What should I be on the watch for? I am not familiar with the new rules.

With more gays per capita than San Fran, guns would be #2. Get a topper for your pickup, get CO plates, and don't drink and drive!

I don't actually know the law regarding out of state visitors. The rifle is no problem, but the stupid new law does limit the purchase of new mags over 15 round capacity. I don't know if it limits your ability to bring one into the state and leave with it.

At worst, bring your rifle and borrow a mag from a local. The Colorado long range scene is a good crew. We will get you sorted out and shooting.

Fantastic place 50 years back! Now....gives me a case of the schitts to think about even driving through it!!

The Springs is actually a pretty nice place, we are not batshit crazy like the metro Denver/Boulder areas. Several places to shoot if you have the time to go there (2 hours south is Whittington, two hours west is the Chafee County DOW range...steel out past 1000, and a new range just opened up on Ft. Carson for the public).

We are at the foot of the Rockies and Pikes Peak, there are a number of microbrews being made here the best of which are from Bristol Brewery (personal opinion).

Colorado Springs and El Paso County are an island of sanity in a state rapidly going downhill.

Check out the Olympic Training Center. Quite a few sports train there. Shooting has a BIG building on the complex with all new electronic targets for 10m air rifle and pistol as well as 25m and 50m targets for the rimfire sports.

Swimming, weightlifting, boxing and a few other sports also have facilities there.

Watch for deals on a night at the Broadmore Hotel. Its true 5 Star. I once got a room there for $99.00. Or if the wife is with you just pony up Its truly a unique experience. I went in for breakfast the hostess actually placed the towel in my lap before I was finished sitting down. being the construction type it made me feel a bit odd to have someone do that. Its worth the experience.
