ok so i bought me a savage 93 couple weeks back to shoot some tree rats with and fun at range when not shooting full size rifles. i went to the range few days after getting it sited in 20rds or so, hunted that evening. week or so later i bought better scope for it re zero'd and fig hell i will try the diff brands/grns ammo i had to see if gun shot any better like all my other bolt guns. shot prob 150 rds at 25-150yrds. hunted few more days. fast forward to today and i got caught in heavy rain while hunting no biggy. i come home and proceed to bore foam the rifle to clean copper and other junk. 2 hrs later i try to run a THIN patch thru and HOLLY hell the bore is so tight it starts to bend the cleanin rod for my rimfire kit. so i try and reset the patch thinking it folded over making "double" patch. i tried same thing with several diff shape patches and thickness. i finally got 2 patches to run through but still big PIA. is 17hmr normally that much of a PIA to run a patch thru with? or do i have another issue to look into?
before anyone asks YES i had correct brass .17 jag i even tried 2 other .17 jags i have. the gun does shoot VERY good for what it is so i feel its not a bore issue. but idk what else could cause it to be that much of a PIA.
