I think a more effective bait would be to tie one of the lawyers to a tree and shoot whoever comes to set him free. THAT will save American lives.

What does this have to do with tree hugging?

Re: Sniper tricks!

You know who that is? He is John Plaster's little nephew! Do you see the resemblance?

Re: Sniper tricks!

I'll be Piston Pete could offer some great optics ideas for this thread.

Re: Sniper tricks!

ONly thing that could of made the original douchebags video better, was the use of a do I dare say, counter sniper scope. All of you guys spent so much on your ard's and here some geniuse with a pantyhose could of saved you a lot of money! LOL. I loved the grass in front of the scope idea.

Tell me this doesn't make the thread complete:

Re: Sniper tricks!

the panty hose is an old school trick. stuff the panty hose with other stuff and you also completely alter the silhoutte of your rifle, all for $3.00.

another good ARD is plastic screening for screen doors, put it over the lens, put the flip up cover over it, your done. paintable also.

another oldie but a goodie, the pointy cups you have at watercoolers, tip cut off, paper colored in.

get a piece of rope, (thicker hemp or twine is nice as it's "fuzzy" and lightweight). tie off both ends with a know about every foot to keep the rope from unravelling completely. loosen the strands to add seasonal foliage / colors / gillie strips, sticks, whatever, to the twist, tie a few standard tans throughout. twist alittle just to add more retention. then just drape and serpintine it around the rifle.

the "fuzzy snake" is completely removeable and adaptable to changing environments, lightweight and no extra tension on the rifle or restriction of the working parts.

That law professor is actually wrong.

Re: Sniper tricks!

While I hate to admit it the techniques in the first video are sound and have been taught and used by military and police snipers for awhile.

However the "jiffy-pop" style Marine Cover and the Army camo blouse destroys any semblance of credibility this cat had, not to mention the sling attached to the barrel of his sniper rifle.

Re: Sniper tricks!

Gees I wish he'd at least lift the bolt to take it out of battery.

And the sling attached to the barrel...love it.

Re: Sniper tricks!

The sling on the barrel is the oldest trick for fast wind correction!!!!!

All you have to do is apply the needed tension on the barrel for the wind condition, no more fooling around with that stupid knob on the scope....

Gotta point out that the "sniper" rifle used looks to be a 17HMR Savage MKII that he used in a paint how-two.

Re: Sniper tricks!

Well I was going to get a store bought ghillie but after seeing this guy, I'm getting one of his customs!! I was also thinking of calling Tony and getting one of his TAB slings but this guy has it going on and I have now decided to drop TAB or anyone else completely when it comes to tactical gear, tips, or probably even training. I only want the best, this guy is officially my go to guy for everything, but being that he is probably Plasters nephew, it doesn't surprise me. Hopefully he starts his own web site and we can all stop coming to this dump of a web site for infomation and networking.

this video is a blast from the past worth another look, I'm almost positive that's a younger mark wallberg

I'm going to have to go back and read the "How to avoid the Sniper Post", I'm going to need it after my wife finds panty hose under the seat of the truck, I don't think she will buy the excuse its for my scope.

I want my 7 minutes back.

What are you guys talking about?!? This was SS School day-1.

In all seriousness, as an Ohioan myself, I'd like to apologize. I'm embarrassed.

My favorite line from the vid: "...in case you want to snipe at something or someone."

Panty hose are actually a tried and true method for an ARD.

I usually take a garmet bag and color a section of it and then cut out a small portion and fold it over the front of my scope and then put the scope cap over it. works and looks good.

^That.

I love the dress shirt under the BDU top and the fact he openly states hes in the basement.

As far as the nylon over the objective, I was taught with various contraptions made of cardboard and tape or pantyhose and a rubber band so the thin nylon is actually not a bad idea.

That ghille suit/hood and barrel band on the other hand make me giggle inside.
