Anyone have any inside scoop on Accuracy International discontinued AX series with an updated AX in the PSR format for 2014. Wonder if it will be 17000 like the PSR or something doable. I guess shot show will tell the tail.

This has been discussed before and ended badly. Suggest we just wait the 10 days till shot and find out then rather than causing any more drama.

I have them all, and have been allowed to make active the videos I did the morning of SHOT.

So the videos are finished, complete details and close up looks of all the rifles, those not attending Shot will be able to see them.

That morning I will make it all live.

I doubt you'll see another offering like they did with the PSR. I'd expect the updates to be in the normal price range.

Sooooo what is your unofficial opinion..

Awesome, looking forward to that

Knowing what you know if you were in the market for an AX today and seeing milehighs current prices would you order an AX tomorrow?

Are you asking if they are basically going to sell the PSR Rifle minus the kit? I doubt it to be honest. I get the feeling the new rifles will have the PSR Buttstock option, and the new way of holding in the barrels with the side screw so the barrels don't need to be torqued in.

I'm doubting they are going to sell the PSR rifle with the Long action .308 bolt face by itself.

If I was a betting man I would guess they rock or why would they want to unload the inventory but I like your question and hope we get a little taste

I think you guys are going to be kicking yourself's on missing out on the deals MileHigh has got going on to be honest.

I've been wanting to buy another AX from mile high at those prices. But i don't want to be caught wishing I had put that money toward whatever the new stuff is.

Sort of. I guess that would really be about the only thing better than the current AX is the PSR. Basically just asking if one would have buyers remorse for buying an AX today when in two weeks theres something like a PSR or AX MK2 or something with amazing features that is in that 6-7k range. When looking at the current AX the only thing that I'm not very fond of is the expensive barrel change kit vs a side screw like the PSR.

I think you are probably right and i'll most likely have an AX shipping out monday from them.

There are ALOT cheaper ways of swapping the barrels on normal AIs.

Thunderbeast Wrech 250.
Tubbs Vise 150?

I used that for 4 years swapping barrels on all my AIs.

The main thing on the PSR(disregarding the the .308 - 338) is the butt stock is bad ass and a major improvement, and the tension screw for the barrel. Granted you still have to remove the damn handguard on them to pull out the barrel.

He makes total sense. One, I just dropped some major cash on two rifles and glass so I need to save or I might have dropped the hammer. Next year this time I will have to new family members. Surgeon and without thinking an AI.

It is good to see all of the interest in our 2014 models and I am sure you will not be disappointed. A number of "guesses' might be correct, some might be close and some not. All will be revealed on the morning of January 14 on our website, on Snipers Hide and the new products will be on display at Shot Show. We have new rifles in production and new AICS will be in production by the end of March.
One thing I can say is that you will never get better pricing than anything left at our distributors for the current or soon to be discontinued models.
I look forward you your comments and feedback soon.....just over 10 days to go!

I agree. I picked up a AE demo, and am still thinking about another AX (despite the fact I really, really do not need one more).

I have been eyeing the new butt stock and honestly I think the current AX offering will snag on crap less and is a little better protected versus a bunch of exposed aluminum. I do not have a need for quick adjust and any extra crap that can get out of whack when I am competing is a negative. The right folder is cool and I am interested to see if they change the hand guard design. Also a $80 torque wrench, $60 barrel vise and $90 action wrench is by no means a huge investment to be able to change barrels at will.

Unfortunately getting access to stuff ahead of everyone else comes with its limitations.

I can't comment on them until Shot, if you don't honor the agreements you can't expect to be given access.

This is why companies trust me with their stuff before most others.

Agreed

Looking for an AE right NOW. 308/24 fixed.....plain Jane. Mile High has them listed for approx 3000. Any other suggestions or deals shared would be appreciated. Public or PM. Thanks!

The AEs are being retired, but still supported. You can still get any parts or service for the entire line, from MkIs to MKIIIs...

I still have my original MkI AE (Along with a MkIII) and have no intentions to part ways with it. They are a great rifle, I constantly use my AE and for someone looking to step into the AI brand of rifle, it's the gateway. The deals being advertised are awesome, so if you can't afford to spend well over $5k, you are not selling yourself short spending $3k on an AE. It's much more versatile than you think.

Frank, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I know that is somewhat the business you are in but none the less it really helps those of us who are not able to attend shot. I am really looking forward to the new offerings coming out. I have always been a fan of AI and the consistency they are able to maintain in quality. I have been with out one for a while and was lucky enough to be able to get back into an AW last week.

I second that! Even though I'm not in the buyers market at the moment, I appreciate the work and time Frank is putting into these videos so that we can see the new AI's without being at SHOT. I'm very excited to see what AI has in store for us!
