I have a bone stock LMT 308 MWS 16" and just sent off my paperwork for a AAC 762-SDN-6 suppressor. I was wondering if any of you guys have this setup and what you had to do to get the rifle to function properly when using the suppressor. I am anticipating an overgas situation that will require a heavier buffer when using the suppressor. Am I correct?

I have a magpul prs on mine so rifle buffer/spring and it runs like a top with the sdn-6. Running a 51t brake.

Did you try it with the stock 308MWS buffer tube, stock buffer spring and stock H3 buffer? That's what I am really interested in knowing.

Well since the rifle buffer is 5.1 oz and the h3 is 5.6oz I suspect the gun will run just fine with the H3.

Are you afraid it will run to fast? It wont. Dont over think things. Get the can, run it on the gun, if it runs to fast, deal with it then. you cant go heavier than an H3 so you have to go to extra power spring if you run to fast. You will be fine with the stock buffer.

It will be over gassed with the stock H3 buffer and spring. I went thru this when suppressing my 16" LMT MWS w/ stock SOPMOD and extension. Went with Slash's extra heavy buffer and rifle spring and it really smoothed things out. Be aware that Slash's web page is a little misleading when you have a MWS. The receiver extension tube is longer than the standard carbine extension. Call him and tell him exactly what you have. I originally ordered the carbine XH buffer and the rifle would not run correctly. Get the buffer and spring he recommends. I ended up selling the original carbine one that I ordered at a loss since it had been used for 3-4 rds and he would not exchange it.

I am in the EXACT same boat as hogshooter. I too received the wrong buffer and spring from slash but that has since been corrected. I'm heading out to the range tomorrow to see how my heavier buffer and spring run with my surefire 762ss.

My MWS is over gassed pretty bad when using .308 pressure ammo suppressed. I cannot get it to run with Federal Fusions, but 7.62 ammo works just fine.

Is this the correct buffer and spring combo?

You probably will benefit from a heavier buffer, however as was said, I would run it and confirm it doesn't perform to your expectations. I have multiple suppressed AR's, and they all run fine and I have run H1's -2-3 , Vltor A5 , cans no cans and everything has run fine. The heavier buffers and A5's are good, but you should see where you are starting from.

Good luck.
