Who shoots .300 Win Mag 208 Amax/H1000?

Looks like last time I played with it 78.5 grains was looking promising. I really don't think this will ever be a 5 shot 1/2 MOA rifle.

I used to shoot 208 Amax w/H1000 before switching over to Berger 210 VLD & Matrix 210 VLD.

Just under 3000fps (2980) being the tightest groups.

I don't run them any more, but when I did I was @ 76.8gr H-1000. 2950 out of a 28" 1:10" tw.

I have this same set up for my 300 WSM, but I haven't run it yet (b/c I'm getting great results with 178 gr AMAX/IMR4350 60.0 gr). I'm planning on using the 208's for long range though. 26" Bartlein 5R 1:10 twist. I'll post results once I try it.

Norma brass and 79gr of H-1000 under a 208 gives me excellent accuracy out a 1-10" twist 25.5-inch bartlien #4. Right around 2940fps out of my rifle.

Will Federal Match Magnum primers affect pressure a lot? Last time I think I was just using regular Winchester primers.

Great combo. I use 76.8grns now. Hodgdon's data for the combo is Min-71.7grns and Max-78C.

My savage likes
win brass
208 amax
77 h1000
210 fed match
mag length
solid 1/2 moa load

H1000 sucked out of my winmag with the 208 AMAX. I got poor nodes and mad compression. I switched to H4831SC and I'm shooting dimes now. Plenty of velocity out to 1200yds. 1/2 moa or better.

75.3 gr H1000
208 Amax
Fed 215M Primer
Win Brass...

Running 2850fps out of Crescent Custom switch barrel rifle.... 26" Bartlein with ThunderBeast 30P-1 can.

Best results have been with 72.5gr with a coal of 3.420" out of a 26'' DTA barrel.

I use that combo, 77.5 grains of powder and rem 9 1/2 primers. Shot a deer last week at 250 yards. The Amax made a pretty big hole!

Used to shoot them but haven't found them in 8 months. So have swapped to 210g bergers with 79g h1000 at am getting 1/4" groups.
