Finally, FN is going to release a civilian version of the both a carbine & rifle. The A4 20" rifle is definitely on my buy list once available.

I don't see the allure - sure it's an FN but you can say the same about a Colt m4 (which I own), or any other company with a mil contract. IMO - It just seems like the 5.56 ar15 market is a little too saturated for these to make much of a splash.

In terms of a semi-auto version full size 20" AR (w/a 1/7 twist, gov't profile barrel) that have/had a contract to make the real deal for the Military - there are only 3 manufactures...Colt, FN, and Sabre Defense. I already own the Colt & Sabre Defense (no longer in business). Therefore, the FN will simply complete my collection.

I have always wanted something as close as possible to my issued M16, just for straight up nostalgia.

I can see where they may sell a few if the price isn't stupid. I just ended up buying one of PSA's 20" uppers and built one.

Understand, I had Colt M4 and plan to add one to my collection. I liked the lighter smaller carbine getting in and out of cramped vehicles and carrying lots of gear. If I could have made somebody else carry it for me lol, I'd picked the 20" full rifle. More accurate and better ergonomics.

Wanted to build an FN rifle clone, but FN 20" gov't barrels last about 20 minutes on any for sale blog board and I gave up. Maybe with the new FN15s coming out, it will be easier to find a 20" govt profile barrel, rather than the 20" HBAR. A HBAR barrel turns a 20" rifle into a great boat anchor.

The graffiti laser graphics I'll pass on. Best advertising is making a standout product.

PSA 20" upper - FN barrel is the closest I could ever find to what I carried around. They have a hammer forged upper with double chrome as well (I ordered two of them a couple of years ago, they are government profile barrels also).

I haven't seen any other 20" uppers or full assemblies that are reasonable close other than BCM
