Bought a Ar-10A4, stock 2 piece plastic round handguard, collapsible stock, flat deck gun, modded it to my liking.

Parts added:

Atlas bipod on Larue mount, 2 Piece Armalite quad rail, 6.5-20x50 Vortex Viper w/ 4" sunshade on 20 moa larue lt245 mount. I still want to add a JPE brake as i catch myself flinching after 40-50 rounds, and a Rainier arms ambi charging handle. Then it'll be hopefully finished.

This gun is set up for hunting coyotes, long range bench shooting (one day I hope to try more than 600 yrds).

What you guys think?

just installed the larger finger guard on this gun... got it for Christmas n almost forgot I had it. I'm going shooting later to site it in.... hunting in Iowa next weekend at my dad's 255 acre farm. More to come on this setup!

That's a fine set up for your intentions. Keep it simple. How's the trigger? That might be on your lists of upgrades as well.

If it's anything like the one on my AR-10 A4, the trigger is definitely the weak link. It's a very heavy 4-stage trigger (and those "stages" aren't counting the considerable amount of creep...)

Thanks! :)

I've got a savage bull barrel .223 that was my uncle's who was a gun collector, it has trigger work n you can't tell when it's going to go off... gunsmith did a great job.

How hard are these new triggers to put in? I've worked on 20mm,30mm gatling guns for uncle sam; but this is my first attempt on should/personal rifles.

any personal triggers that you guys have put in yourself and reviews? Looks like I might have more research to do

No one who tries a Geissele trigger ever says something else is better. Installation is as easy as popping a couple pins and putting them back in.

Your mod on the A4 are very similar to the ones I did on mine. Noveske SWS quad and SS barrel YHM flash hider, Ergo grip, Vortex Viper PST FFP 4-16X50 scope, Harris 6-9 inch swivel bipod, Magpul PRS stock and a JP reduced trigger spring from the reduced power spring kit. The JP trigger brought my trigger pull from 8 lbs to 4.5 lbs. Fortunately the trigger did not have any creep to start with.
Good luck with your A4.

I have the JP reduced power spring kit that samnev mentioned above laying on my bench now if you want it. I bought it to try on my MWS, but ended up putting a Geissele SSA-E in it. Free to a good home, just send me a PM with your address.

Quad rail should have read SWS. Putting a Geissele in my LMT MWS did wonders for the trigger pull. It is a snap to put in. The second stage is very light a took some getting use to. I may in the future do the same for my A4.
