Mounting a Atlas Bipod to an AI Stock

Here is how both look. I prefer the spigot because I like the bipod more forward. In the photo with the spigot you can see where the rail sits and due to the configuration that is as far forward as it will go without modifications.

with the spigot mount, does the bi-pod flop around like the AI model or parker hale?

Who did the paint work on the stock? Are you using the Atlas with the spigot adaptor to allow to use it on both rifles?

Short Bus (Custom Gun Cotes) did the MARPAT skins. The Viper Skins were a dip job and Multicam when I got them. I have multiple bipods and adapters, but you can if you have more then one AICS. Takes about 20 seconds to attach and tighten down.

here's a close up if your wondering. atlas with quick release tension knob in front allows you to loosen or tighten and then of course your spigot release to take it out.

Thanks for the picture. I like that it all will lock up once your level is set. Its not show in a catalog but isn't the bipod also produce with spigot mount is incorporated in the upper portion of the bipod as opposed to two separate pieces.

I also use the spigot. Love it. However, I use a less expensive bipod, the Versapod. It looks like and AI bipod and works great for me. I'm very happy with it. Eurooptics sells the adapter for $85 or so.

Just bought a BT-19 to mount my Atlas on my AICS 2.0. I like the way it mounts very solidly. I chose that mount so I could move my crazy ass expensive bipod between my short and long action AICS 2.0 stocks. It's a great system. I didn't want to mount it to the rail on the bottom of the forearm because I wanted it as far forward as possible and it seemed like it would be in the way if mounted on the rail.

Another vote here for the spigot. As an addition, I used to run an Harris on my AICS/700p and now have an Atlas with spigot on my AIAW. As noted before it gets the bipod out further in front, which aids in stability. A

Another benifit I really enjoy is for slung up shooting positions (seated, kneeling, whatever...). There is much more real estate for the support hand on the fore end, especially with the sling mounted on the right side of the stock, its much more comfortable and allows better skeletal aliment to hold the shot. Not muscle.

note how his hand is where the Atlas rail or Harris would want to be. Its not impossible to work with a mount there, but I enjoy not fighting it.
