World's Finest Trimmer - WFT vs WFT2

I like mine. It makes quick work of heavy trimming. With the wft2 make sure to have a master trim case to set the trimmer with. on the originalthat will not be a problem. Since I do 4 calibers it work for me to get the 2 with replacable collets

Those of you using the Giraud:
Did you order an additional cutter head w/ blade along with each additional case holder for each cartridge? They're $45 each. The lady i spoke with told me most people do so that there is nothing to reset when changing the case holder to trim a different cartridge. She also said you can get away with using just one cutter head/blade, but there is a slight adjustment that must be made. To me that partially defeats the purpose. I guess if I'm spending $440 on the trimmer, I might as well pony up the $45 for each blade. I'm looking for some first hand feedback on that first though.

I have a cutter head and cutter for each caliber setup and ready to go. I use Hornady split-clamp lock rings on the shell holders and set all of the shell holders up nominally with .015" of die shims from Sinclair underneath the lock ring. This makes changing calibers a 60-second job and if I want to alter the trim length I can simply add or remove the shims under the lock ring as needed rather than mess with adjusting the locking ring and making test cuts.

If you were reloading & trimming say 15 calibers having a separate cutter holder & cutter for every caliber would get expensive... but I only reload 4 rifle calibers and the time savings provided by having separate cutter heads & cutters set up and ready to go for each caliber was much more appealing than saving a few bucks and only getting one.

The WFT is ok, but not great. I'd skip it. I was getting inconsistent case lengths with mine. Not sure if it varied based on how hard I pushed the case or what. Plus, getting is set to 2.005 for 308 will drive you insane. Like a cat chasing their own tail. Other guys claim to have great success with it. I used to use a Forster Original, but it hurt my hands, so now I use an RCBS automatic trimmer. It's expensive and it chamfers, but honestly, if I took all of the coin I've spent on trimmers and bought a Giraud, I'll still have money left over. Buy once, cry once.

I get odd case lengths with my WFT when little bits of brass get in the 'chamber.' I just clean it out regular and it's fine and dandy.

Mine seems to run the same length every time.
