Erblestock operator packs

Ive used a voo doo drag bag for some time it was quite heavy and when waliking did not distribute weight that great. I looked at a erblestock operator pack today i can get them for $310.00 i liked it because of the ability to pack a ar-15/10 variant rifle as well as my primary bolt gun. And my coyote calling stuff and the rest of my gear. Any pros and cons on these

Yeah i looked at those as well im a bigger guy and the operator has a frame on it and it seemed to fit me better. But yes the gs2 is a damn nice pack

Both the GS II and G4 now come with the intex II frame. Am running both. My GS II is the older version from before the advent of the Intex frame. It's a smaller pack than the operator, and while the frame would be nice, it's not a deal breaker for the GS II. I do have an Endo frame that I have lashed into the GS II which provides some rigidity.

Both of these packs work well and I personally have no complaints. Some will say they are heavy compared to other similar sized packs, but I equate this to the tough, sturdy construction and it's not a negative to me. Each will carry your rifle well. You just have to determine how much gear you want to organize and hump, then pick accordingly.

If you have any questions at all, contact Ceylon - a hide vendor, at DeltaOutdoorsman.com. He's the resident Eberlestock guru and has probably forgotten more about these packs than most of us will every care to know.

I went with the GS3 - Phantom over the GS2 -- It just suited my needs better.

The GS 2 and 4's are extremely well made as well -- A little heavier but, nothing a few trips to the gym won't solve.

Also check out the G3 Phantom. It has the long side sleeves for hydration, tripods, etc, and the rifle scabbard completely removes as it's own soft-case should you so desire.
I've been on the Eberlestock page for the past 3-4 days trying to figure out which way to go, and in that size-range, it's looking more and more like the G3 for my needs.

ETA: sorry Masked, I just saw you'd hit on the G3, didn't mean to be redundant.

I have the Operator it is a Good pack overall , plenty big enough for most needs. My only beef is one of the plastic snap together buckles that holds the top of the pack close together cracked and broke on my third use now the pack cant close at the top as well with one side not working so that kinda was a big disappointment after only 3 uses. But you won't be disappointed in the pack overall its really a useful piece of kit.

Just did some swapping with another member here and got a GS2 and its a great pack. distributes the weight well. and is comfortable with my 16lbs surgeon and gear.

Loved the GSII pack, very easy to organize and easy to get rifle in and out. For my needs to carry more of a load I need a bigger pack than the GSII (good for day trips for me), and something with a frame (mine was the older style). I will be interested in another Eberlestock but the next one will need a frame to meet my needs.
