I'm a little confused about the changes in Accuracy International's Stock Sides.

There're 1.0s (?), 1.5s, and 2.0s. I'm fairly certain the 2.0s are folders, though.

What exactly is the difference among these various models, and are they all interchangeable?

For instance, what's the difference between the model on top, and the one at the bottom (not so much whether they fold or not, it's just that the outline's different).

I'm planning to get some kind of AI Rifle soon, and this will be my first bolt gun - but I don't have all my facts straight (yet).

The one on top is the older skins, no longer offered I believe.
And a 1.0 chassis/skin does not have the adj c/p as far as I know (old style skins again) and is also no longer offered.

My experience , the 2.0 is a little heavier, but the folder option is really nice when time to clean and also for storing. I have 2 1.5's and when it's time to clean , you have to remove the adj cheek piece and the recoil pads on the end of the butt to get your cleaning rod to go in w/o any contact to the chassis itself. Also, I had to do some dremel work on the trigger housing on my LA AICS to get my Jewell HVR to fit properly. The same trigger dropped right in on my SA with no modifications required. Is the extra $ worth it for the 2.0... IMHO, Hell yes

Thanks, guys.

I appreciate the info.

Are you planning on buying a complete AI rifle or dropping an action into an AICS? AI just released new products. Mile High has good information, and may be worth a call.

BTW new ones have been announced you may want to check out the new chassis and rifles.

Also I'm selling my legacy skinned aics chassis, which is the top one.

I'm hoping to get a new AT within the year, and wanted to use the older skins.

I really like the older look.

You will need to buy the thumbhole skins from AI but I'm not sure how they will look on the new AT. But will have them as an option.

So if you get one from mile high right now will they be the new style on bottom?

The AT was just announced, you can pre order from mile high and it will come with a pistol grip. You can order the thumbhole as an option meaning you will have to buy skins

That would be the AIAE and AIAW with the old skins but the AIAE still has the second gen skins basically the second stock on the first post. It's the mk3 skins not mk2

The previous rifles would take the old style skins or the newer multiple piece skins. There are thumbhole skins available for the AT but I don't think there are pics or anything floating around. One would assume though that they will be similar.

I wouldn't count on the old style thumbholes fitting the AT. Chances are they won't. At the very least it won't have the hole for the barrel tension bolt.
