I am REALLY enjoying my brand new AE w the factory 24" 308 barrel. The folks at Europtic took great care of me on the purchase.

I have 200 rounds through it with 175/178/180 Amaxs, Matchkings and Hybrids all on top of a moderate load of Varget at approx 2550fps. With a dirty fouled bore however ( gun sitting at least overnight), my first shot, every time is easily 1.5-2 MOA out of the rest of the group that is always under 1/2 MOA and often 1/4 MOA. The gun is very accurate but I'm unhappy with cold fouled bore performance.

The gun was carefully cleaned 3 times during the first 100 rounds and hasn't been cleaned at all during the 2nd 100 rounds. Action and scope screws have all been properly torqued.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cold shooter? Dry fire a few interations before going hot.

This is your cheapest remedy regarding your current issues, might as well give it a try.

Best of luck

I've been shooting my SSG and my SPR before the AE at my range sessions for comparison. I'm not having the issue with those guns....that I am cold on.....

I might be able to live w .25 to .5 MOA but not 2.0. This is a relatively expensive gun designed for law enforcement use which would primarily entail sniper/1st/single shot performance requirements.

Take the action out and re-torque it to specs again. I had that issue with mine and remounting the action in the chassis solved it.

Some barrels just have coldbore shots......

I've never figured this quite out either. My brothers full custom rifle does it, bedded, torqued and everything. The first shot sails .75moa every damn time. I'd love to know exactly what makes one rifle do it and another not. 1.5-2moa is a bitch though, hard to work with that.

5 shots cold bore after removing chassis and reinstalling torqued to 10Nm per AINA:

Will continue to test but I think this fixed the issue.

88.5 in lbs is more than most chassis and stocks are torqued to I believe. Regardless, I'm pleased with initial results. 1st shot was less than .125moa off poa.
