Back in July I decided to finally order the last piece of the puzzle that is my custom Remington Model 7. I had a hell of a time deciding between Manners and McMillan. Both are top shelf when it comes to quality, but McMillan had mold in colors I like better while Manners leadtime was 3 months shorter and their stock would be about $150 less. I called in my order to manners (wait time was the deciding factor) and asked if the advertised 3-4 month wait time was correct. The person taking my order informed me that it would be closer to 4 and I was fine with that since it was 3 months less than McMillans. Sooooooo, after 5 1/2 months had passed I called in and inquired about my delivery date. I was informed that I should have received it by now and that they were very sorry and I would be put on "the hot list" and I informed them to please not rush as I am OCD and want top quality. The person on the other end laughed and stated they understood as some coworkers were the same way. After another 2 weeks passed (6 month mark) I made another phone call to check progress and to inform them that the reason I chose their product was because of the 3 month difference in build time which was almost no longer the case. I was given another sincere apology and promised that I would receive an email or phone call to let me know my stocks status.... That was a week ago and I haven't heard a thing. Is this a common thing with Manners? Maybe McMillan is the same way I'm not sure, this is my first ordered custom stock.

They are imperfect humans like all of us, but I am surprised by the events you describe. I ordered a stock 3 days ago and was quoted a 12-16 wk wait. Call them again. Always top shelf service from Tom Manners in my experience.

I was quoted the same on July 22 2013. I just dont want to be a pain in the ass I guess.

McMillan is the same way. I was told five months. It took seven and even by the end of that time, they weren't willing to commit to any specific delivery time, which was pretty frustrating. Many will tell you to order it and forget about it. Good advice. Surely, don't plan a shooting season around it or you'll probably end up sorry.

I was quoted the same lead time back in December when I ordered mine. MCS is absolutely hammered. They had stocks everywhere but it takes time as they are not a massive operation.

I ordered a T2A on November 30, 2013 and received it today. They quoted me 16-18 weeks at the time of order.

I'm thinking because mine is for a not so common action (Rem model 7) it's taking longer because they have to actually make it and not just box it up like a model 700 action?

You can bet your ass that Tom will be posting as soon as be sees this and will take care of your issues.

I have a EH1 stock I sent in for repair (cerekote guy got it too hot) back in September and was told it would be fixed quickly. I was hoping to have it back by deer season (November). Well.....it's been over 4 months now and I've called a several times and never can get real status update on my stock, BUT I don't give a shit. I know Tom is swamped. Plus he had to prepare for SHOT. They will get it fixed eventually I guess and I know it'll be fixed right when I finally do get it back. People seem to think that Tom does everything and can oversee the entire operation from start to finish......and it's just not possible for one person.

My guess would be Tom will see this tomorrow, and contact you. BTW Manners stocks are well worth the wait, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered my first manners stock about a week ago myself! My wait will be somewhat different since I'm immobilized after a 20 ft fall onto concrete on January 9th! Thank God I was even able to order this as I know my outcome could be so much different. The doctors say I can't shoot till August anyway, so all I have is time to wait!

This ^^. Definitely worth the wait. My t4a was a few months behind schedule but Tom and his company took care of me. Communication is key and they always put their customers first. I dont think I've ever heard anything bad about TM and his company. I'm sure someone will contact you or have an update for you soon.

My T2 took 9 months but knew that going in.

Manners customer service is first class and their stocks are top shelf. I would recommend just sit back and wait, it is well worth it.

There isn't much else I can do but wait, I don't wanna be that customer that constantly calls all the time. I only posted this wondering if it's standard procedure for wait times of this length with 12-16 week times quoted. No big deal, I will sit back and wait. Thanks for all the replies and reassurance of how great my stock will be!

It shouldn't be long and Tom Manners will be here to take care of you. Tom is awesome and I'm sure he'll get you squared away, my bet is you will be blown away by his CS. I went with Manners after being a McMillan guy and I won't go back to McMillan unless I get a Sentinal one day.

I'm sure you need not panic, just general delays of the industry.

I'm sure McM has had delays, but this was my last experience:

My last McMillan I ordered on August 15 2013.
I was told 6 months, and "we wont accept your phone call for status updates until 6 months and 1 day".
I received the stock January 24th 2014.
Time: Approximately 5 months and 1 week

I ordered an EH2 August 16, tracking says it should arrive today

For what it's worth, I ordered a McMillan July 2 and it's still not here

Well someone must have seen this post, I got a call today asking about my barrel contour and another apology for the extended wait time. Very professional people and they said only another couple weeks. I can't wait for this last piece of my custom build. Thanks for all the replies, I'll post pics when it's complete!

Tom is really busy, Im also sure that when he see's this he will get it squared away. He has some family stuff that takes prescience at the moment but I guarantee he will see this and take care of you

Hi rem7. Just came across this post, I see that one of the office staff called you today. Send me your build number and contact information. I will put my hands your stock in tomorrow AM and get right back to you with what the hold up is. Thank you very much

Already been said, but Manners is first class customers service. Always helped me since the day I started building rifles. Tom will get you fixed up, and you will have the finest stock money can buy. Tooter Meredith
