Bipod for Cheytac question

Re: Bipod for Cheytac question

I've been pretty impressed with the Cheytac and 338 Bipods that LR-accuracy is making. I've been shooting their "F-class" since June. I won a second one that I haven't gotten to the range just yet.

I have a LRA on a .375 CT but I am considering replacing it because I don't like the fact that it doesn't cant well. If you intend on using it for nothing but bench rest, it should be fine; but if you want to use it "in the field," then you may want to get your hands on one before you buy. They are very wide when folded making them difficult to transport and store and the cant doesn't work well. On the up side, they are sturdy as all get out. These things could likely prop up a truck!

Elite iron revolution bipod=awesome for heavy rifles.

Agree with limited cant and too wide for a case comments of the LRA, and also that it's built very well. BUT it also doesn't have enough height for a DTA to shoot up any significant incline. If you buy the leg extensions and the quick release (so you can transport in a case and not carry around a hex key), you have another $200 in it and now.......

You might as well have gotten the Elite Iron

Which is my next purchase after I find out if I owe taxes.....

I may look at the Elite Iron. I want something robust but practical for field use. I think the LRA are great for bench rest but the short comings will maninfest once you get off the bench and into the field.
