M40A3 build questions

I've been looking for a few days on some specs for an M40A3... I have found a lot of info, but I haven't found machining dimensions for modifications that need to be made for the DD Ross scope base. Would anyone have these specs? I am trying to have this rifle built by a local 'smith, so I don't want to send it to GAP. Nothing bad about them, but I'd rather be able to drive to the 'smith, and not have to worry about a ridiculous transfer fee to mail it... Thanks in advance!

If you call up Dan Ross he will help you out. He also offers the clip slotting service. If you buy the rail and lug from him he would probably give you a little bit of a break on it. He will slot you action as well as open up the mount holes to 8-40. I am also pretty sure you can just send it to him and he can send it right back. That said, I don't know how easy this is for a smith to do without the proper tools. At PWS I understand that they have dedicated machinists that do this and it is done on a CNC.
