check out Long Rifles Inc, on the group buy page may be what your after, top quality work at a great price and amazing turnaround times

I would seriously consider finding a source close to home.

I would seriously consider finding a source close to home. Its been my recent experience that once you send your parts off to the long distance premier smith you may not get the service you were expecting. At least if your close you can pay a visit.
even the recommended smiths on this site may not follow thru with their word. Buyer be ware. Good luck.

Really???

Have you even used any smiths that advertise on this site?

I live in northern Indiana but will ship gun anywhere

Living in Indiana you have some excellent local options.

A.J Brown
Mark Penrod

Mark lives a little north of Indy, while AJ lives just south, both of these guys know how to build a rifle right. I do know AJ's wait times can be a little long but worth it for sure, he's currently building me a 6XC that I'm really looking forward to. I haven't spoke with Mark for a little while but have, and have access to no less than 7 of his rifles and they are all excellent in terms of build quality and accuracy. Both are super nice guys and within driving distance for you.

Also I've briefly shot with and spoken to Robert Snyder (RWS gun-smithing posted above), I've never worked directly with him on a build but would not hesitate doing so in the future.

My two personal favorites are Mark Gordon at Short Action Customs in Ohio, and William Roscoe at LA Precision Rifles in Louisiana. There are many other great ones here as already said above.
