Scope Mounts for .308 ARs

Just wondering what scope mounts you guys are running on your .308 ARs? I've been running LaRues but I was wondering what else is out there. I currently have a 20MOA LaRue mount but I shoot out to 1080 at the max with this rifle so I'm thinking I don't need the extra 20 MOA. I see that most scope mounts are 1.5 rise but I was looking into getting a lower mount with my new optic (Leupold MK6, should have more clearance with the smaller objective). I run a CTR with the RISR so I was hoping to get a little better cheek weld if I can get the scope a little lower.

I would go GDI if going QD style. Sphur makes great one PC too. You can go direct as well like badger fro great results. I like the GDI a lot.

Badger Ordnance has some lower options in 34mm mounts for you, 1.30": Triad Tactical, Inc.*::*Badger Ordnance*::*Badger Bases*::*Badger 1 Piece Assembly, Alloy, 20 MOA, 1.30", 4.625" long, 34mm

I shy away from QD mounts when I don't need them, but I do have a pair of GDI as well for a rifle I switch between a S&B PMII and Leupold CQBSS on. They're pricy and I got them a couple years back when they ran the debut group buys, but they're worth it if you want to switch back and forth often.

Also, I use at least a 20moa mount for all my non 1x-? optics. It really can't hurt, only help, as I have the elevation always available and the optics closer to the middle where the best performance is.

Right now the best 20 MOA mount to get is the ADM Recon, I was in the same delema as you.

The ADM recon is just under 1.5" @ 1.47 center line with an extended base and 20 MOA option. They have lower options with out the 20MOA and extension.

ADM also has 2 locks instead of just the one like larue. AMD also has a bigger contact surface than larue which should make it a better hold/return to zero scope. I picked one up and am actually happy with it.

I actually supported ADM because like you I was looking for something a little lower and instead of just make me a special order they were interested in taking over the lower mount market and putting it into production as their design team has been looking for new ideas and is trying to stay ahead of the game than sit there and just make business. So keep an eye out for that as well in the future.

BoBro makes a decent mount. There is also the german $$$ one. But the ADM had the best features and scope height available for my use. And again their drive to thrive sealed the deal for me. ADM all the way.

The ADM Recon is a great choice for a QD scope mount. I prefer them to LaRue and some others.

The Nightforce Unimount is what I use on my .308AR. They are not QD but built like typical Nightforce tanks.

I use a Bobro 35mm mount on my SR25. Other than not having any cant, it is all the mount I will ever need. Razor 5-20 up top.

I usually use Badger or Larue. Both have help up nicely.

I wanted a qd type lever mount, after much research and looking at other's field reports I went with a Bobro mount. Couldn't be happier with it. And while the website doesn't list it, they do make a 20moa option, just call and ask Andrew.
