I have an older Rem 700 action which is currently chambered in 30-06. If I send it off to be rebuilt to a 7 WSM (I realize this is a SA cartridge going in LA)
Will I be able to use the same bolt?
Thanks for your help.

Talk to your smith, they will have a recommendation. Some are comfortable opening a bolt up, others are not. Some like PTG bolts. Talk to the smith. If your smith won't talk with you or can't talk intelligently about it, find another smith.

In my opinion, a PTG one piece bolt is the ONLY way to go in this situation. Having separated a couple handles from the bolt during matches, I won't run a two piece again.

++++1 on what dinc said.

Thank you guys very much. That makes sense. I will probably be sending it to the LRI group deal. I have been trying to monitor feedback as the weapons are worked up after the build. I still have not completely sold myself on that caliber yet and obviously have to buy a blank. Thx again for being a resource
